I'm Going Back to Maxis Match!

by - October 11, 2018

... Kind of. I am starting a new save file with a new challenge and I have a newfound appreciation for Maxis Match hairs and, yup, here we go.
Long story short, I started downloading some MM hairs for my sister and I was like, "Hey, some of these are really cute," and one thing turned into another and let's just say I'm going to have a lot of hair CC in my game. It's going to be a bitch to find what I'm looking for, but that's a problem for another post. Here are some key details of what will be coming your way very soon:

  • The Challenge
    • Not So Berry created by alwaysimmingg.
    • A lovely user on The Sims Forums made a Google Doc for keeping track of challenge progress and this is probably going to be very helpful for me as my Quickover legacy has no real rules or goals.
    • I won't outline the full set of rules here but, basically, you want each generation to complete their career and aspiration.
    • I'm probably breaking one rule by having custom life stage lengths through MCCC but I don't think they are that extreme that it varies too much from the default "normal" span.
  • The Founder:
    • For some reason, when thinking of what to name this family, I immediately thought of the German word for Berry: Beere. From there, the surname was born: Nichtbeeren.
    • We start off with mint. I love mint (the color, not the herb)! I decided to commit and go full German: Minze Nichtbeeren. She sounds like a wild one. And I adore her.
    • She also has a dog, Luna, because dogs just make everything better. Even Luna is getting in on the mint party with that harness.
  • The House:
    • The creator suggests using the freerealestate cheat for securing a house, initially, but then using no other money cheats. I can work with this. To the Gallery I go!
    • Just kidding, I used one of the houses that already exist in Windenburg (obviously): The Waterlock Redoubt (it's right in the middle of the "town" kind of).
    • I'm taking it slow with the decorating. I've really only done the living room and the bathroom (kind of).

I'm really looking forward to this challenge partially because it will allow me to use the actual default careers. With my Quickover alphabetacy, I use a lot of custom careers, which are great! Here, though, I can play with what EA gave me. I've never used an active career before and right off the bat I can go be a scientist - cool!

Stay tuned as we dive right into Minze's life!
