Is This Going To Become A Pattern? | Quickover 3.1

by - October 31, 2018

Previously: Lola and Forgotten Name Dog welcomed a puppy, Sai got mad over a carrot, and Beatrix went into labor.

Introducing the first (spoiler: and only) C baby: Conrad. It's a boy! I kind of knew that Beatrix and Sai would only ever have one baby, mostly because of household size and the fact that they also live with Briony, Adrienne, and a few pets. So. For better or for worse, the heir is a boy and I just have to deal with that even if he turns out kind of goofy looking! Cross your fingers for me, please.

Even after almost missing out on the birth of his son because he wanted some food, Beatrix can't be mad at Sai. They are completely blissed out.

Okay, Bea might not be the most comfortable holding Conrad yet but, hey, she's figuring it out.

I hadn't realized that Sai had such a high mixology skill when he first moved into our household but he does and, Jesus, he really loves making drinks. And drinking drinks. We might have a problem on our hands.

This is definitely the last time I had Adrienne use this arranging table, oops. She's taking it very seriously, though.

Considering Winterfest happened last time, I'm going to say these celebrations are New Year's Eve related but everything kind of just blends together in retrospect.

Mother and daughter are Conrad's steady companions in his nursery.

How adorable is this!? Tiny Mango sleeping on the rug while Conrad snoozes in his crib. Be still, my heart.

I mentioned a few posts ago that Briony's dance career isn't just about her physicality. She is taking this charisma thing and running with it.

She's also trying her hand at DJing with this rickety set-up they put on the deck. Adrienne is pretending not to hear whatever nonsense is being produced.

Sai met these random women outside of the house and, lo and behold, they had brought some wine with them for a New Year toast. Sai with more alcohol? Yup. A problem.

Instead of just sending a text, Molly, why don't you gals come on over for a midnight bash?

Even though she looks super sedate here, Beatrix loved showing off her little one to her mothers.

And the adults all had a blast watching the midnight programming. While sharing the room with a pile of trash. Don't judge them, okay?

Briony and Adrienne wasted no time locking lips when the clock struck midnight.

Seems like Sai and Beatrix are a bit more reserved in their PDA, though.

Cut to the next day and:

We have another family visit, this time at Molly and Arwen's place.

Bethany even showed up. It's almost like the girls knew something big was going to happen. Hmm. Interesting.

How cute are Arwen and Briony taking a picture in the background? And, damn, Bethany's working out has paid off - those cheeks!

And the reason for this post's title. This happened at the beginning of the B generation, too. I guess I need to speed up my baby making (or mess around with the life stage durations) so that this doesn't have such a high probability of happening.

Okay, obviously Arwen loves Molly with all her heart, but her walking past her wife as she slowly dies while holding a plate of food and smiling is the funniest fucking thing. Every time I see this picture I just scream with delight. This is the Sims I know and love.

Arwen: Bethany, why are you so hysterical? Is the turkey spoiled? Am I about to get food poisoning?

Arwen: Huh, does taste kind of funny. Should be fine, though.

Penny and Briony are taking it pretty hard, as one would expect.

Arwen: Great. I had to throw out all of the lunch meat and I'm a widow now. Thanks for coming over, girls, but I'd like to retire to my room and be alone.

Why is Grim being such a sassafras? GET OUT. I just noticed the little skeleton bunny on his side. Cute but also I hate you, please leave.

Sai is pushing away the sadness of his mother-in-law's passing by rocking Conrad pretty much all the time. Maybe he thinks that the more he interacts with him, the sooner he'll be to using that monster potty they've got all set up and ready.

I feel like Adrienne and Molly shared some kind of bond, even if they didn't interact that much after moving out, because they both enjoyed gardening (albeit on different levels). It's fitting that Adrienne chooses to mourn surrounded by her plants.

This breaks my heart. Like, it absolutely should be the other way around. Arwen is just so strong in the face of grief. I hate this part!

And also the next part! The sadness doesn't let up, folks.
