The Plumbob Diaries

These two know how to keep a spark in their marriage.

A few sweet nothings in the mornings are sure to bring some excitement to their relationship.

Arwen, completely oblivious to her parents' gross flirting, has taken to the chat rooms. She's probably a complete troll.

Um, right, great relationship! No problems here! No arguing at all!

Okay, so maybe they do have a disagreement once in a while but they always end it and move in with a smile.

Even the biggest of pups get pampered in the master bathroom tub.

Just like old times! This brings back the memories: Erick, Chester, and Helena hanging out in her first studio.

Hey, Erick? You don't want gloves? Or boots or socks? Just gonna shovel in your cardigan, then? Okay.

It's a winter wonderland and I'm loving every minute of it.

These two just seem to have a really special bond. Like Chester and Helena but completely different at the same time.

The tree is up and a little bit twinkly. We'll bring the whole family together for this later on.

August is crying in the snow with shorts and a tank top on. Typically normal, nothing to see here, move along.

The kiddos brought home extra credit work. August is building a bridge and has secluded himself in the studio to do so.

Ew, Yogi. You don't know where that puddle has been.

Before she starts her extra credit work, Arwen decides to take in a little children's TV. I don't even want to know what this show is about.

How perfect that this girl's project is a solar system? Destined to be an astronaut, I tell ya.

She enlists Erick to do some very important measuring while she molds some planets out of clay.

Not sure why August needs clay to build a bridge but, hey, he wants to join in on the fun, too.

Family bonding time, father to son.

And mother to daughter.

And husband to wife. These two, you guys!!!

Arwen's decided to make a snowpal. Yogi's decided to run away from this chaos.

Back to the grind. This time, Helena's doing some very careful reading of the instructions while Arwen's the one with the tape measure.

And just like that! Definitely worth a bazillion extra credit points.

Here's Arwen and a friend of hers making a way better snowpal than her first attempt. Concerned about the lack of gloves on her friend's part but, hey, who am I to judge and/or parent!?

Oh, I definitely won't comment on lack of gloves again if you're going to take our trash out, friend of Arwen.

This will haunt my nightmares.

Helena and her dad made time to meet up because family is important, damn it!

What kind of tea is Robert spilling right now?

Whatever it was, I don't think Helena appreciated it very much.

Helena: Dad, stop, don't use those words. Have you been watching Drag Race? You don't need to be "reading" anyone.

What the heck, August?!

Always the protector, that Yogi.

Erick decided to make some snow angels before work. He looks so happy and at peace.

Which is good because this is his work uniform and I can only imagine the kind of hell that comes with wearing that.

Arwen, you little stinker.

Now Helena is watching some questionable TV and I just really don't understand what's going on here.

Time to decorate the tree! I hope Helena doesn't get any needles stuck in her bare legs. Ouch.

But before they could hardly begin...

It was gone. Up in flames. Almost took the house down with it. Will the Winterfest spirit ever return to the Quickover home? Stay tuned.

(I've since gotten better at screen capping fires. I used to panic and not take any pictures because apparently I think that pausing the game means the Sims will die faster. Don't judge me.)

There she is, the new house. With the help of Helena's late mother's will, the Quickover-Finney's have made the move to a much bigger abode.

First meal in the new house and Arwen seems to be enjoying it well enough.

Let's check in on our young romantics, eh?

Okay, maybe not. Scarlet looks... less than pleased with teenaged August.

Long story short, they have a horrible relationship now. I guess their childhood crush was just that, fleeting feelings meant to be left behind. Sorry, kid, but I assure you, love is in your future.

The wild world of scouting! Young Arwen wants to give it a go so, hey, who are we to stop her?

Also, Arwen's room is adorable. I have this constellation CC wallpaper and when I saw it, I immediately decided Arwen would be an astronaut one day.

Now sure how cozy it is to do homework in a rain jacket but, hey, to each their own.

Erick is determined to get off the bench and into the game. That requires a lot of hard work, even at home. He doesn't seem to be enjoying himself but, damn, look at those thighs!

One thing that did stick past childhood is August's love for music. He has upgraded to an adult-sized violin and his parents even splurged for a keyboard!

This is just to show off this cool chair and Arwen's adorableness.

Arwen is pumped when she checks her scouting board and realizes she gets to go find frogs and enjoy the great outdoors.

But, first... do you think Mom left any big bills in her laundry?

This custom content scout uniform changes her hair to blonde for some reason but look at our little scout! She's so excited.

Arwen: Bro, listen, I sold a ton of cookies, like, a ton.
August: You saved some for us though, right?

A lack of Llama Scout cookies isn't anything a nice... pot of tea won't fix?

Even though it's raining, Arwen is ready to hunt for a froggo.

This log looks promising. She's a braver gal than I to just reach in there barehanded.

Yes! We got one! Hold on to it tight, Arwen.

Eh, while we're here...

(Did she bring those tools from home? Where was she carrying them? Damn, girl.)

A change of scene from what, exactly, Lynn? The lid of your coffin?

Heh, this is fine, not weird at all.

Lynn, what the heck! What are they teaching you in the afterlife, Mischief 101?!

Apparently that visit had Helena feeling like life is short, though, because her and Erick definitely had to get some private time in.

Even at the new house, we will never escape the monster under the bed. At least she doesn't look scared of it, right?

Sure, let's talk to the tentacled creature jutting out from your bed frame. That's logical.

All right, some panic has begun to sink in.

Yup. Full-fledged fear. Go get your mother, girl.

With the protection of Yogi, Arwen is back to bed, safe and sound.

August decided to be nice and make omelets for the family. Does his newfound cooking skill stick? No.

Arwen thinks the house needs just a littttttle more color so she has taken it upon herself to rummage for some decorations. Who doesn't love pink garland?

August: Isn't the breakfast I made delicious!?

Arwen's face says it all and, well, Erick just got some leftovers so take that as you will.

Frog hunting 2.0 but, this time, she decided a dress just wasn't the right attire. How cute is she?

New clothes? Definitely get them all grass- and leaf-stained.

Little does Arwen know, she will one day be on this same machine, struggling just as her father is now.

Practice makes perfect. I feel like he's been practicing too much to still be playing with only one finger from each hand, though.

You can see the exasperation on Helena's face. This monster thing. Woof.

It's SNOWING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Definitely gonna go sit in those chairs out front and enjoy the rapidly rising snowbanks.
