Random Genetics Challenge | Exploring CAS

by - October 03, 2018

I downloaded a new default skin replacement and some other things and wanted to play around in Create A Sim so I thought that the Random Genetics Challenge would be a good way to do so. I don't know who originated this but here is the version done by one of my favorite YouTubers, Clare Siobhan.
Basically, I started with two completely random Sims. I randomized everything three times - full body, head, face, eyes, lips, outfit, everything. I then used those two Sims to create a teen daughter. I think I got pretty lucky. Take a look:

Here's Brad, who looks ready to burgle the art museum in San Myshuno. He certainly has the "pop of color" styling tip down with those bright green shoes.

It gets better when we zoom in:

That facial hair! That is a choice, Brad.

Next up, Shari:

This outfit isn't actually that bad. I probably would pair the top with a darker denim and different color boot but Shari is not too shabby!

So we have a trend going on: unnatural hair colors. Her eyes are incredibly light green and she has a chin dimple. Overall, she's cute! I can't complain.

What will the offspring of these two look like? Spoiler: I still can't complain.

Introducing Clare:

I would most definitely pick a different shoe, but our Clare is following in her father's footsteps of relying on a black wardrobe. Girl, same.

And she has a natural hair color? What is going on here? I'd say that she has her mother's eyebrows, a mix of their eye colors, and her father's chin.

I got so lucky with this challenge. I had no huge ears, no ridiculous noses. The body types were similar and there was no one defining feature that would take over in a genetic showdown. I definitely want to do this more times and see what else I can come up with.
