Welcome to the Islands | Sul Sul, Sulani! 1
We're back! Until the announcement of Island Living, I hadn't been playing the game at all. I also hadn't been blogging. Obviously. That is all about to change! This pack has me so excited to play The Sims 4 again. Conservation, mermaids, and gorgeous scenery? Count me in. I have a new Sim and a new story and a lot of pictures of said gorgeous scenery. Let's dive right in.
Heh. Dive. Get it?
Our Sim for this adventure is Elei (eh-LAY) Tamu. She was born in Sulani but her family moved to the bustling city of San Myshuno when she was about five years old. Even though they did what they could to celebrate their culture in a completely different environment, Elei found herself growing further and further away from her heritage. She was always passionate about animals and conservation, however, so she focused her studies on marine life and other similar subjects. After finishing school, Elei made the decision to head back to Sulani alone, eager to transform her knowledge into action and reconnect with her island home.
I say this a lot but, dang, I love this Sim. Elei has the new island life aspiration and is cheerful, a waterholic, and a child of the island. And because I love her so much, I'll probably post a separate lookbook for her to showcase both her beauty and some of the really cool clothes and hairs that come with the Island Living expansion.
This is home. The lot is Lagoon Look located in Ohan'ali Town and I just spiffed it up with some new paint and different swatches for the windows and doors and roof. No one better steal Elei's pastel float!
Considering she hasn't been in Sulani in more than 15 years, the beauty is a lot for her to take in.
With nothing to worry about on her first day back, it was time for Elei to catch some rays (even though I think sunbathing is definitely glitched, at least for me, since she can't put sunscreen on as she's already apparently burnt. I don't think so, game!).
I really love this picture for some reason. The colors of her bathing suit and the towel. The shadows. Her expression. So nice.
After the sun went down, Elei decided to approach some of the locals. They looked a little unsure of their new neighbor at first.
Soon, though, Elei had them won over with her story; anyone that is around to do good in Sulani is great in their books.
Seagulls! Trees with lovely lights! The stars! We stan a beautiful world.
Elei stumbled upon this completely ordinary conch shell and decided to try it out. Nothing of note happened. Yet.
The next morning, she set out exploring her new home even more. She had memories of Sulani from her toddler years there, of course, but nothing prepared her for seeing it again.
How peaceful is this? Nothing but the sound of the falls and the blue sky above her.
Is there an Islander that meticulously shapes this greenery into a whale or is it some of that Sulani magic?

This is just so cool. Everything looks so good.
Since finding a coconut in the wild was proving difficult, Elei got one from this convenient vending machine.
I downloaded a mod that allows roller skating anywhere and even sand won't stop our girl from tying those laces and gliding off.
Uh... aren't you supposed to, like, crack it open first?
Just a housekeeping note: I did have Elei join the new conservation career but she just hasn't really gotten into it yet.
She had to deal with a monsoon on her first day, though.
But as quick as the rains came, they were gone, leaving only this magnificence behind.
After work, Elei decided to explore some of the other islands.
She was combing the beach for trash and found chips. CHIPS! What a disgrace. There are so many trash cans around. (Also I'm kind of worried that my game is bugged because there are no piles of trash showing up for us to take care of.)
Our girl has no fear so, of course, she headed straight into this dark and spooky cave. She returned unharmed and with a souvenir! I think it's an artifact called something like the Hands of Sulani... I'm not sure. It's really expensive, though.
This one really serves no purpose but to show off the spooky volcano and the beautiful waterfall in one shot.
Elei headed to the Sand Bar next and felt really at home grooving to the music.
She also got hit on by this guy, Alika, and even though it turns out he's married, she was flattered.
To wrap up the night, it was time for a little bit of girl talk. Whatever Nalani was saying obviously had Elei feeling some type of way.
I'd say things are going quite well for Elei's first few days in her new (old) home.
