Making Moves | Lemonade 2 | Pastel Patisserie

Another morning waking up in Brindleton Bay and Canary is not having it.

Before we get into this part, let's look at her requirements.

I guess that crossed out first one spoils what's about to happen, oops! As you can see, I added my own goal of completing the snowglobe collection, but I'm having a hard time actually having the cardboard boxes appear so, we'll see how that goes.

Okay, now back to the story:

Hmm... the flea market, you say? Canary sees this event on her phone and gets an idea.

Canary: Look at all of these remedies, Mom! What's the point in keeping them all up on some dusty shelf when they can be put to good use elsewhere? I heard about this flea market...

Sage: I'm willing to give it a try, but don't even think about running away from home without bringing me the items you don't sell first.

Sage digs her old vendor table out of storage and let's Canary dust it off (a job she absolutely hates, of course).

Oh, yeah, baby number five, Finch, is a toddler now. I didn't even go into CAS to change his outfit. I've moved on.

Well, well, well, if this invite isn't perfect timing! Sage can go to the flea market, too, and keep an eye on Canary.

Even if sales aren't booming, Canary is in the big city and she can't contain her excitement! She's had a nonstop smile on her face since arriving in San Myshuno.

Halfway through the flea market, she abandons her post to explore a little bit.

The apartment buildings and city sounds call out to her.

As she reads about upcoming events that the city has to offer, she can't imagine herself being anywhere else. The possibilities are endless here.

Canary thinks about how this water somewhere meets the water she stands by in Brindleton Bay. How is that possible when she feels like she's on a completely different planet?

It isn't long before she is looking up apartments online. She knows she will have to start small, but she's confident that, in time, she'll be able to have the city home she so badly wants.

With a few rental listings bookmarked, Canary finds Sage back at the flea market and braces herself for a hard conversation. She explains what she wants out of her future, and that, even though she is grateful for the childhood she had, the country life is not for her. Surprisingly, it's a way easier sell than she anticipated. Sage agrees that Canary should move out and set out on her own.

This is so sweet. Even if Canary's requirements say that she avoids her family, Sage doesn't know that, and she's just so excited to see what the future brings for Canary.

It's Canary's last morning in the house and Wren is as cranky as ever. It seems to be rubbing off on Canary, as well, but she better change her mood before the big move!

Sage is hesitant, of course, to let her daughter spread her wings. She looks around Canary's room and knows that it isn't what the teen needs to flourish. While it's scary to see her leave, Sage knows that Canary will fend for herself just fine and will make her mother proud in her own way.

I tried my best to get a family portrait before Canary moves out. I probably could've looked and found a pose pack that would work but, eh, aren't family pictures always supposed to have a few duds, anyways?

After some last hugs, it's time to say goodbye. Canary is officially leaving the household.

Before she knows it, she's in the city. The apartment that she had found online is small and definitely shabby, and even though she sees herself in a pristine high-rise, it'll have to do for now. At least she has a pretty great view.

Canary's new home is 910 Medina Studios. (I found a reno on the gallery by sunnysimming that looked like something she could afford while also providing pops of yellow!)

With no time to waste, Canary looks for a part-time job. She can't pay rent with passed tests and great papers. She finds a spot at a bookstore and accepts it without a second thought.

It's a bit chilly in her the apartment, so Canary keeps her coat and hat on while she works on her extra credit project. She's finishing out her senior year online, so it's really important that she stays invested and motivated.

One thing she is going to have to get used to is cooking for herself. It's not as fun as her mom made it out to be.

It looks like her first independent meal isn't all that great, but she'll have lots of time to learn.

Her moms and sister made the journey to see how she is settling in...

...but Canary has all of her focus on her homework and pretends not to hear the doorbell. Or her phone. She sends them a quick text so that they know she isn't dead, but she'd rather not deal with that distraction.

Scattered throughout her neighborhood are boxes of thrown out things, and Canary -- despite being squeamish -- knows that she needs to take whatever treasures she can find until she starts to build up her bank account. Mostly, she finds snow globes.

Despite being on her own and on the path to being successful as she gets older, living in the city isn't going to be all fun and games. Her apartment's circuit box is already on the fritz. For now, at least, San Myshuno is anything but completely glamorous.
