Cottage Living has been released and, naturally, I'm using it as a starting point for a brand new legacy: gillysims' Taylor Swift-inspired 9-generation challenge.
The basic premise is this: each generation is based on one of Taylor's albums, with the stories being crafted around certain songs. I like this challenge because some of the generations have different paths that you can take based on different songs or characters in those songs, and the requirements aren't always super strict, leaving more room for interpretation and allowing me to truly play these stories out in fulfilling ways.
My founder, Marion Cornelia (I wanted some sort of connection to Taylor with the last name and "Cornelia Street" is iconic, obviously), is a child at the beginning of our story. Her generation is based on Taylor Swift and, more specifically, the songs "Should've Said No" and "Mary's Song (Oh My My My)." I'll give you all (all five of you, if that) a few installments to figure out what path her story is going to take before I delve deeper into her requirements.
For now, let's meet Marion and her parents and get settled into their lives.

Marion Cornelia: loves the outdoors, loves her daisy chain necklace, and loves comfy clothes and going barefoot. Her life isn't extravagant, but her chickens and her parents and the endless beauty surrounding her house are more than enough.
Charlie has heard that growing giant crops is quite a daunting task, but he's up for the challenge. He's sowing pumpkin, eggplant (aubergine, rather), watermelon, and lettuce seeds.
In the rare moments that she's inside, Marion has started to try her hand at cross-stitching. So far, she's completed zero projects and poked her finger way more than just once.
They really ramped up the puns with this pack, that's for sure.
In between her preferred outdoor activities, Marion makes time for one or two more stitches. She'll never finish a project at this rate!
Not wanting to spend another second inside, Marion headed over the bridge to the little community garden and picnic area by her house.
While they aren't quite friends yet, Marion and the bunny, whom she promptly named Honey Bun, got close enough to exchange a friendly handshake.
Oh. Oh. Well, Marion will just have to brush up on her catered-to-rabbits jokes.
Marion has so much life ahead of her, and I can't wait to follow along on her adventures. Next time, we'll meet her best friend and explore more of Henford-on-Bagley. Her generation requirements won't really start until she is a young adult, but I'm excited to build her story day-by-day and spend as much time as possible with her!
