Love and Money | Lemonade 4 | Pastel Patisserie

If there's anything Canary misses from home, it's that she didn't have to make her own birthday cakes on a grungy counter there.

Canary has made it through the rest of her teenage years on her own in San Myshuno! As she blows out her candles, she's definitely wishing for that success to only multiply for her future.

And she wastes absolutely no time in getting herself a grown-up job. The business career may not be the funnest one out there, but it will certainly help Canary get to where she wants to be.

...if she isn't killed by the weird smell in her place first, that is. If it's not one thing, it's another.

Wait. Something is oozing? Wow, this girl needs to get out of there ASAP.

To distract herself from the state of her apartment, Canary works on her chess strategy because, somehow, this will help her progress in her career.

After a while, though, the stink and slime is too much to bear and she has to break out the sponge mop. We all know how much this girl hates chores and cleaning, so it must be really bad for her to take this step.

After trying and failing at getting rid of the mess, Canary puts in a call to the landlord.

While she waits for help to arrive, let's take a look at a couple of her siblings now that they've grown up a bit. Here are Wren and Finch as a teen and child, respectively. Wren, I'm so sorry, sweetie, that upper lip...

Finch is a little cutie, though!

Now back to the Main Character Content:

The landlord is working on the apartment, so Canary is out exploring. While doing so, she catches the eye of this guy.

She hasn't had a lot of (or any) romantic experience, but she knows a good looking Sim when she sees one!

She works up the courage to say hello and introduce herself. This is Will, a lawyer who has lived in the city for years and has somehow managed to stay single.

When Canary hears that Will is a successful lawyer, she's instantly more interested.

(This is the part of the Lemonade generation's requirements that I don't love for Canary: she has to marry someone rich and older [Will is almost an adult so, yeah, that counts!]. She is so intent on building her own success and making her own money, and I feel like that requirement might make her come across as kind of a gold digger. It's fine, though, because they're cute together and she's still going to be doing her own thing and getting to the top of the Business career.)

The two exchange numbers and, judging by the look on his face, Will is already pretty smitten with his new acquaintance.

Sure, Canary is fine with trying to avoid Sage and her siblings, but she hardly saw Leinani as a kid, so she figures she owes her some one-on-one time.

Our girl wastes no time in telling her mom all about the new guy she's met.

Canary: He's cute, and has a good job, and has nice clothes, way better than anything I ever saw back home!

Leinani:

The periods really make her response seem a bit sarcastic, though, don't they?

Mere days later, Will asked Canary out on a date. They went out for dinner and it was all very lovely but what was even lovelier was the view afterwards.

And, just like that, our girl has had her first kiss. Things between these two are moving fast, but Canary is happy, and Will is everything she could want right now. We'll see how it goes.

I'm not sure how she figured this out so quickly. I guess mothers are just all-knowing like that.

Canary looks so annoyed to be wearing this outfit to work. I don't blame her. As she gets older and further into her career, her fashion is definitely going to change but, this? This is not it.

Fame and reputation doesn't mean anything to Canary when her job is on the line. She would rather grind and climb the business ladder while remaining under-the-radar than be well-known and unemployed.

Up next: It's Winter Fest!
