The Plumbob Diaries

So I definitely forgot to include some childhood moments in the last post so here they are.

I haven't explored a lot of the Snowy Escape pack so I took advantage of going to one of the festivals there.

Ciel's generation has to max out the doctor career. Though, she couldn't have known that was her future as a kid playing with this toy set, right?

A brand-new teenaged Ciel next to the portrait of her younger self. They grow up so fast!

I randomly had Ciel start knitting as a way to disconnect from all of the video games that she played throughout her life.

Let me outline the Baby Blue generation's goals:
  • Complete the Super Parent aspiration
  • Reach level 10 of the Medical career
  • Max the Video Game skill
  • Go to GeekCon every time it's in town (admittedly I have failed at this one but shhh)
  • Marry your one childhood friend
  • Adopt 1 child before marriage
  • Have 2 children with your spouse
  • Traits: unflirty, geeky, loner

Ciel and Olive's friendship continued to grow once they became teenagers.

On a rainy Summer Fest, the family tried to make the most of the day.

Even though her relationship with her mother was next to none, Ciel inherited her love of dancing.

Summer Fest continued... Ciel tried to light a firework and, well, you can see what happened.

Since Ciel was pretty self-sufficient in her teen years, Luke finally had the opportunity to pursue his dream of being a comic. His niece was very supportive.

A summer outing to the museum brought Ciel even closer to making a decision on what she wanted to do with her life. Skelly inspired her to start learning all of the bones in the body that very day.

Another Tuesday, another trip to GeekCon...

Of course, Ciel met up with Olive and they were in the presence of some very dedicated cosplayers.

I wonder what Ciel could have been so pumped about?

Oh, yeah... accepted into University! She attended Foxbury Institute for a distinguished degree in Biology.

I'm pretty sure this challenge was written before Discover University came out so I took a bit of liberty here. It just seems so wrong to be able to become a doctor without any education further than high school. I turn off aging while in college which also is probably technically cheating since she almost had her Video Gaming skill maxed by the time she was done but what can ya do!?

Dorm room pre-blue makeover.

The views were stunning from Ciel's building.

She was on the gaming team for her entire time at school. Instead of going to practices in person, she played the games from her room and connected with her teammates via headset, as a loner is wont to do.

Lyla invited us to hang out and this was her response when he had to decline:

Too little, too late, Mom?

AND THEN THIS HAPPENED!!! Childhood friend Olive revealed her feelings for Ciel. The feelings were mutual.

(Did I mention in the other post that I chose Olive to be Ciel's eventual spouse because her name is a shade of green and the next generation's color is Pistachio? It was a sign.)

But then there was always this. I never understood this one. She got over it with time.

Olive and Ciel's first kiss! My timing was a bit off on taking the photo. Oops.

Graduation finally rolled around and Ciel made me so proud with her top marks.

In what seemed like no time at all, Ciel was about to embark into proper adulthood.

Next time, Ciel starts her journey in the medical career and moves into her first home!

Meet Ciel Serie (ciel being French for 'sky' and skies being, well, blue). Her early life consisted of a lot of time with Uncle Luke. When it came to those beginning years in terms of the challenge, Ciel was introduced to video games and to the idea of helping others, through volunteering with her uncle and playing doctor. I'll outline her other challenge requirements in the next post, as there isn't too much to do as a child when things are heavily focused on adult aspirations/skills/careers.

While her mother was out making music, Uncle Luke took on the roll of caregiver. He read her to sleep, kept her company, and cooked her meals, all while putting his own dream of being a comedian on hold.

I love this CC toddler seat/swing-looking thing.

Ciel's toddler baby blue-inspired outfits really just included a lot of lighter denim.

Before Luke knew it, it was Ciel's birthday! He invited her dad, Santino, around, but Lyla was off at a show.

She was adorable as a toddled and equally as cute as a kid!

If she wasn't watching movies or playing video games, Ciel loved playing with her science kit (mostly because I added my own goal of having her complete a CC childhood aspiration called Little Einstein).

When her eyes needed a break from screens or bubbling chemicals, she relaxed with the newest Henry Puffer novel.

I guess this was my way of capturing that Lyla moved out. I honestly just wasn't having fun playing as her anymore (I'd rather be at home with Ciel than out DJing). For story purposes, she booked a huge opportunity for a residency at a club in San Myshuno and needed to relocate. Also, I just really like these family portraits.

Besides Luke, Ciel really only had one other friend as a kid (per challenge rules). This is Olive!

Not sure why Luke was so bummed about the Flower Bunny...

...because Ciel had a great time visiting with them.

Her egg haul was pretty impressive for her first Spring Fest!

Another thing Uncle Luke introduced Ciel to? Geek Con! Ciel was sure to hit up the merch booth.

The only time Ciel came close to playing sports as a kid. Spoiler alert: as an adult, she likes fitness!

Olive came over to celebrate Ciel's birthday! They grow up so fast.

Here Ciel is as a teen! I love her. In the next post, we'll get caught up on her time in high school and university.

Lyla Serie: music lover, dance machine, hates children. She didn't want what her parents had and, even though she still dutifully rang up customers at the bakery, she was reaching her breaking point.

Other second generation requirements included: maxing out both the Dance and DJ skills, having a partner and then cheating on them and getting pregnant from the affair, being best friends with your adopted sibling and have them watch your child, make all of your money from tips, and complete the Party Animal aspiration.

One night, she went out for the first time with some friends. While her dancing didn't go so well, she was pulled to the DJ booth.

After a talk with her parents (don't ask about Lyle's serious conversation outfit choice), they relented. She was, after all, their spoiled baby girl. The next day, Lyla came home from school to find her very own beginner DJ set-up in her room!

After a few more nights out, Lyla's dancing had significantly approved. Her and her friends choreographed elaborate routines to stun the crowds with. She also finally got the chance to DJ in front of an audience; the tips were small, but she was addicted.

Lyla aged up into adulthood and quickly moved into an apartment closer to the action of Windenburg. Her best friend and girlfriend Moriah spent a lot of her time there, even showing her support by fixing Lyla's DJ booth after it was left out in the rain.

Lyla did make her way home to meet her new brother, Luke of the Pink Hair. They became fast friends, even with the Hates Children trait in play.

While Lyla won over the crowds, Moriah hung out in the back, honing her table soccer skills.

When she wasn't spinning or hosting parties, Lyla's life was pretty unglamorous. Breakfast burritos were her go-to.

Everything changed after one dinner party. Lyla had known Santino from the gym, and she felt herself being drawn to him while drifting away from Moriah, who had different goals than Lyla.

After their one-night stand, Lyla found out she was pregnant. Her (now blonde and big-nosed!) brother moved in after hearing the news, knowing that someone would have to look out for his niece or nephew while Lyla was out working.

When Lyla came clean to Moriah, it didn't go well. Moriah wanted kids, but not like this, with betrayal and cheating and hurt. She broke up with Lyla.

Safe to say there was chance of reconciliation...

Lyla gave birth to a girl! She will be introduced in the next post.

While her brother pretty much raised her child, Lyla enjoyed DJing success. She moved out so that she could find new opportunities and gained a fair amount of fame. (And we'll ignore the part where MCCC had her have another baby because I forgot to make sure it wouldn't. Oops!)

I'm only on the 3rd gen of this challenge so I don't have much to compare it to but, really, this one won't end up being my favorite. I didn't love DJing all of the time, and I got super tired of throwing a bunch of events.

Up next is the start of the third generation, which is represented by the color baby blue! I'm having a lot of fun with this Sim so far (she's about halfway through her YA life).

The Pastel Patisserie Legacy Challenge: Not So Berry-adjacent, but with pastel colors and different stories. The founder, or the Bubblegum Generation, loves baking and makes their money doing only that. They have one child with their spouse, whom they meet at their bakery, and spoil them rotten. They want to have the best baking club in town and, when their kid sets out on their own, they adopt another, to fill their empty home.

Meet Norah Serie (yes, just the last 5 letters of the word patisserie): cheerful, good, and a glutton. I initially made her for another challenge and didn't change her name to be related to her gen's color, so she's just Norah.
